Audencia's Full-Time MBA leading the way in the Corporate Knights ranking
Corporate Knights has just released its 19th annual Better World MBA Ranking. and Audencia's Full-Time MBA programme took the lead among French MBAs, and is ranked 32nd worldwide, ahead of emlyon (36th worldwide) and INSEAD (38th worldwide). There are only three French schools in the top 40 ranking. Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking, published on 10 November, ranks Audencia’s Nantes-based programme as 1st in France, and 32nd in the world. In response to the positive impact ranking, Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights, commented: “Every MBA programme in the world should be instilling holistic purpose in leaders, ensuring they have the skills, tools and values to build a more inclusive, healthier economy that is beneficial to society and in harmony with the natural world, and the Better World business schools are leading the way.” Mickaël Naulleau, Director of the Audencia MBA & DBA Community, said “this is recognition of the school’s Full-Time MBA in Responsible Management, which started over 15 years ago when Audencia broke new ground by making CSR a central and essential component of business education and research. Our expertise in this area has grown and is now part of all our MBA programmes. Audencia is going even further in this area with its new ECOS 2025 strategic plan and its focus on the virtuous transformation of individuals, organisations, and indeed, all the stakeholders of our MBA & DBA Community, whether students, graduates, professors or partners. We are all motivated to work together for the common good, conscious of the fact that we are all part of one community on this planet.” To determine the ranking, Corporate Knights evaluated 147 MBAs, including the 2021 Financial Times 100 Global MBA programmes, as well as every programme that had made the 2020 Top 40 in the Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking, and select MBA programmes accredited by AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS, and/or signatories of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education that opted in for evaluation. Programmes were evaluated across a range of key performance indicators. These include: core course integration of sustainability, research publications per faculty member on sustainability topics in the calendar year 2020, the percentage of total faculty publications in 2020 on sustainability topics and the number of citations per faculty for those publications, sustainability-focused research institutes and centres and faculty gender diversity and faculty racial diversity. Further details of the evaluation method used are available on Corporate Knights’ website. View ranking About Corporate Knights: Founded in 2002, Corporate Knights Inc. includes the sustainable business magazine Corporate Knights and a research division that produces proprietary rankings and financial product ratings based on corporate sustainability performance, including the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World. Corporate Knights was named Magazine of the Year in 2013 and won the SABEW Canada Silver Award for Investigative Reporting in 2019.

Grain de Sail, the cargo sailboat, arrives safely in New York
Discovering how sustainability, adventure and great-tasting products come together for Grain de Sail Grain de Sail has arrived safely in New York after its transatlantic crossing. Not only is it a cargo sailboat, but it is also a true raison d'être behind the company of the same name based in Brittany, France. Audencia alumnus Stefan Gallard (MBA 13), CMO of Grain de Sail, is currently in New York to welcome the crew, the boat and her cargo. He will be taking this opportunity to share the details of the who, why and how behind this incredible adventure: Live from the quayside in New York for the IDxA conference on Thursday 9 December (still time to register here) During a private guided tour of Grain de Sail for New York alumni on Saturday 11 December (only a few places left here) For those who are unable to make either date, alumni Kamelys Say and Mathias Van Der Meij (both GE 20) will be filming the New York visit and interviewing Stefan as part of their portrait series for"Les égarés du canapé", a world tour of environmental and social initiatives by Audencia alumni. About Grain de Sail Grain de Sail was founded in 2010 in Brittany by twin brothers who are experts in renewable energy. At that time, they shared the same bold vision: select, produce and sell great gastronomic products to cross-Atlantic consumers using the world's first modern cargo sailboat. The brothers opened their first coffee roasting facility in 2013, followed by a chocolate factory in 2016 with the ultimate goal of getting the cargo sailboat ready for 2020. In October 2018, Grain de Sail launched the construction of the first transatlantic cargo sailboat and its maiden voyage took place in 2020. While the initial project was to import organic cocoa and coffee from Central America and the Caribbean to France, they first had to leave France to cross the Atlantic. This is why, in 2016, they launched Grain de Sail Wines, making the cargo sailboat the first ever purpose-built floating wine cellar. Grain de Sail is also the name of the cargo sailboat that left Brittany on 4 November 2021 to cross the Atlantic with 10,000 bottles of organic wine on board. The crew have arrived safely with their precious cargo in New York and will be met by Grain de Sail's CMO, Stefan Gallard.

Join the EULab initiative for designing a sustainable future
Feeding Our Cities: developing sustainable, resilient & inclusive food systems This is a UNIQUE opportunity to be part of a EU Erasmus + project which aims at using design-based methods of teaching and learning to work on a live project in and with Nantes and look at a major issue in sustainability (here; how to feed cities in the future). Applicants (students and recent graduates) will work along other students from Finland, Spain and Ireland to suggest avenues to explore in this fascinating area. The intensive week 17-21 January 2022 is taking place at Mediacampus and will be full of master classes and exploration tasks to investigate how a city like Nantes is looking at feeding its citizens in the most effective sustainable way. Students will contine their investigation for 4 weeks online using different channels to work and communicate. There will be a public presentation at the end of the process. So it is an eye opening, intensive, collective, transdisciplinary and fun design-based exploration of a very serious sustainability issue. We would welcome alumni looking at refreshing/enhancing their skills in the management of projects dealing with sustainability and being free for 5 weeks to do so. To sum up, for Audencia participants, this will be: An exciting, innovative learning experience A chance to develop the skills to tackle our most pressing and complex challenges The chance to bring an idea from concept to prototype Work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams Experience in: Agile team methods and Design inspired methods of thinking and planning; Virtual collaborative work platforms and tools (MSTeams/Slack; Miro; Twitter; LinkedIn) Working in English with students from Ireland, Finland and Spain An EU certificate of attendance for all participants Please follow this link to the EULab application form Any questions, contact Catherine Morel
