Join the EULab initiative for designing a sustainable future
Feeding Our Cities: developing sustainable, resilient & inclusive food systems This is a UNIQUE opportunity to be part of a EU Erasmus + project which aims at using design-based methods of teaching and learning to work on a live project in and with Nantes and look at a major issue in sustainability (here; how to feed cities in the future). Applicants (students and recent graduates) will work along other students from Finland, Spain and Ireland to suggest avenues to explore in this fascinating area. The intensive week 17-21 January 2022 is taking place at Mediacampus and will be full of master classes and exploration tasks to investigate how a city like Nantes is looking at feeding its citizens in the most effective sustainable way. Students will contine their investigation for 4 weeks online using different channels to work and communicate. There will be a public presentation at the end of the process. So it is an eye opening, intensive, collective, transdisciplinary and fun design-based exploration of a very serious sustainability issue. We would welcome alumni looking at refreshing/enhancing their skills in the management of projects dealing with sustainability and being free for 5 weeks to do so. To sum up, for Audencia participants, this will be: An exciting, innovative learning experience A chance to develop the skills to tackle our most pressing and complex challenges The chance to bring an idea from concept to prototype Work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams Experience in: Agile team methods and Design inspired methods of thinking and planning; Virtual collaborative work platforms and tools (MSTeams/Slack; Miro; Twitter; LinkedIn) Working in English with students from Ireland, Finland and Spain An EU certificate of attendance for all participants Please follow this link to the EULab application form Any questions, contact Catherine Morel

Jember Teklu Tesfay (MBA 21) is a finalist at AMBA's annual excellence awards
At the beginning of each year, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and BGA host an annual awards evening to celebrate excellence among business schools, students, graduates, suppliers, and employers that share AMBA & BGA’s values of ambition, impact and integrity. Audencia is thrilled that Full-Time MBA alumna Jember Teklu Tesfay (MBA 2021) was shortlisted for AMBA’s Student of the Year award. With competition from AMBA-accredited business schools across the globe, this award recognises students who have shown exceptional career potential and who AMBA believes can act as ambassadors for the high quality of accredited MBAs and the opportunities these programmes provide for students from a wide range of different personal and professional backgrounds. Jember is a young professional from Ethiopia with a first degree in hotel management. Prior to joining the full-time MBA programme at Audencia, Jember clocked up 8 years of experience in sales, customer relations, recruitment and humanitarian services. By the age of 22, she was managing a team of 150. To the question “What does the world need more of?” Jember answers without hesitating “More listeners” and in 2018, she joined the United Nations Global Compact for Migration (GCM), which aims to build safe and orderly pathways for people migrating. This was a tough and hugely demanding experience but Jember’s empathy and capacity to listen allowed her to find the satisfactions that she was seeking in the successful outcomes for the refugees she was helping. This period was also when she decided to study for an MBA. Jember is fluent in Amharic and English and is currently learning French. Since the summer of 2021, she has been rising to the challenge of working in France as a CRM Marketing Manager at BlaBlaCar, the French online ride-sharing company. The winner, announced at during the online awards ceremony, was Monique Farquharson from Aston Business School. Audencia Alumni and the MBA Management team would like to congratulate Jember for raising the visibility of her school by reaching the final of this category.
