DESCRIPTION:When career change goes wrong (and how to fix it)\n\nDATE: Thursday 11 May 2023\nTIME: 13:00 to 14:00 Paris time\n\n\nMany people avoid career change because they expect a long and risky struggle against uncertainty and setbacks.\n\nHowever, most people overfocus on a few practical obstacles in their way and don’t pay enough attention to the “inner business” and exploration that might lead to real change.\n\nIn this webinar, Professor Herminia Ibarra will discuss some of her latest thinking about career change and explain how we can all work to manage setbacks, embrace discontinuity and work through the necessary uncertainty of transition.\n\nWe will discuss:\n\n\n	Which obstacles to change are important and which tend to resolve themselves\n	Why disruptions (like the pandemic) can be positive for change\n	How successful career changers generate appealing alternative futures for themselves\n	Why your existing network is probably holding you back\n	The one activity that career changers most often cite as beneficial (hint: it is not updating your LinkedIn profile)\n	Why you are probably wrong that “no one would ever hire me to do…..”\n\n\n\nEveryone who registers for the event will be asked to complete a transition experiences survey and we will discuss the results live.\n\n \n\nREGISTRATION\nWe have 200 free tickets for Audencia's alumni and students\n(use code "AUD-student" if ticket does not show)\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAbout our speaker\n\nProfessor Herminia Ibarra is the Charles Handy Professor of Organizational Behaviour at London Business School.
